This looks sort of effective but around 0:45 what’s keeping the guy being sweeped from getting a triangle choke? it looks wide open.

  2. eugdog106 Says:

i suppose you could also go for x gaurd

  3. RightWingCon81 Says:

Oh if they did that to YOU the great springtoad, you would just CRUSH them. Got it!.

  4. fireguysith Says:

This is an awesome move. I always find myself in this position.

  5. ijuh22 Says:

    why not go for X-Guard???

  6. BJJALLDAYNIG Says:

    no
nog did a half guard sweep where you get deep under the leg and push his arm down towards his crotch so he has nothing to base on when you roll. Unfortunately i dont know exactly what its called

  7. BJJALLDAYNIG Says:

    i agree
nothing grinds my gears more than when people who teach themselves jiu jitsu on youtube try to sound smart about it…it never works

  8. JawBreakerJimmy Says:

if u dont do bjj then dont comment

  9. JawBreakerJimmy Says:

    no different sweep

  10. eugdog106 Says:

saulo ribeiro does a variation of this

  11. FoodCubes Says:

Congenital defect. It’s mentioned in one of the short documentaries on him.

  12. kingshahine Says:

    LMAO no he didnt

  13. stallion2561 Says:

i think nog used one kind of a half guard sweep in his fight with sylvia.

  14. teamquestfan Says:

Oh yeah? Check out Nate Diaz v Kurt Pelligrino in the ufc,you will see you are quite wrong

  15. asiaaz Says:

What happened to JJ’s hand?! I never noticed it if this was a congenital defect or was it recent he lost his fingers?

  16. baywest Says:

u need to trap an arm for the triangle

  17. baywest Says:

not if you have both hooks under his legs. If both hands are under his legs then the guy cant trap jj’s hand which u need to do in order to get the triangle.

  18. RightWingCon81 Says:

To me the Z guard is when I”m pinned in half guard and have my knee on the guy’s somach.

  19. scooch18 Says:

at our school we call it the z guard just a slight variation from the marcelo x guard pass

  20. ohwowlookout Says:

Look up “Old School” sweep. That’s what Nog did.

  21. onehandraisinbransam Says:

no nog used a different half guard sweep; the one nog used should be on youtube somewhere also…

  22. RightWingCon81 Says:

THis looks A LOT like the X Guard Marcelo Garcia does with a slight difference in the feet. And the sweep looks very similar to the X guard sweeps. Thing is, I hardly, if ever get a guy who sprawls out in the half guard like that, sweet move though.

  23. RightWingCon81 Says:

Um, how? THe sweep from the bottom show’s nothing, so no mounted triangle, he has strong hooks too. And when he passes the guard it’s a classic stacking pass, where’s the triangle?

  24. cdub6969 Says:

Hey “springtoad” you must still prob be a white belt. Any one with any experience in grappling knows that triangles with out an arm in just don’t work.

  25. springtoad Says:

im sorry but if u did that to me your head is WAY to open for a triangle choke
