also you could try under hooking the right leg when they post and sweep them the other direction. thats the variations jj machado shows in his book championship techniques.

I think he was born with the handicap. but in my opinion it has been his streanth first because others probably underestimate him and second because he learned to persivere

great stuff, I have short legs, so the full guard is very hard for me to maintain or work from, so I’ve been finding a home with the half guard and the butterfly guard.

hey fabyfakid,try to become familiar with the spider guard as well…that will increase your chances for attacks, sweeps and mainly control….hope it works…

Is JJ a big half guard player? I am and I need to find a good guy to emulate in this position. He’s a big hero of mine overcoming that handicap in a huge way. Anyway, this is like one of 5 half guard moves on youtube from JJ.

he puts big emphasis on it thats where the beginning of all of eddie bravo’s emphasis on guard comes from jj’s half guard teachings since he has that handicap his game is alot of hooks which is very good look at jj in the adcc armhooks are mad strong
